Car stereo wiring help......

Long story short - I have wired up dozens of replacement head units in my 40 years but most from crutchfield that are plug and play. Long story short - I have a 2005 Nissan titan le crew cab whose Rockford fosgate factory stereo isn't working (cd changer won't play discs). It also has the factory Oem DVD entertainment center in the rear. I have an old pioneer double din avic f700bt head unit that I could use to replace the CD player. However, I am afraid to lose my DVD functionality. Is there a way to wire this so that I can use the head unit and the DVD player. The head unit has an AV1 option / output. ANY help is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

You can, but you will have to find the input wires to the dvd player and splice in a RCA connector on it. the12volt.com might have a wiring schematic for it. Otherwise, you'll have to use a multimeter. Someone somewhere might make an adapter for it...Might want to search a Titan forum.

Cody, Thanks man. Appreciate the help. I will check out their website. I am sure that it can be done; just trying to figure out if its worth it to do. I really dont have the money for a new head unit but would hate to screw it up and ruin something else altogether.

That's part of the fun with electronics :)

The real fun is integrating with the RF internal amplifier(s).
