Some of the most boring music I've ever heard. I voted "can't stand'em". Because, I can't.

Well I'll jump in with a yes vote. I wouldn't call them the greatest band of all time but I have always thought they were innovative and had a unique sound that I appreciate. Own several of their cds which manage to get played every now and again.

When I hear their music, its as if the starter blasts the horn and they all try to get to the finish line at the same time. None of them seem to be listening to the others. What's that quote from the Mozart movie "trying to impress beyond their years..." God and that fiddle player is like listening to a guy sawing on a board... eee aaa eee aaa eee aaa.... Oh, I voted "can't stand them. :)

Talented musicians, and one of today's premier drummers.

I dig the earlier albums (Before These Crowed Streets and earlier), haven't cared much for Dave's recent solo work. VH1 Storytellers, and anything Dave has done with Tim Reynolds is nothing short of acoustic bliss as far as the guitar work.

That being said, I'm TOTALLY burned out on them right now, and DMB discs see little playtime at my humble abode currently.

    "They're a good band"

    Cheers,

Well I personally like them, think they're a good band. They don't get as much love as they used to, but I still like them.

Carter is one of the best drummers out there today. I'd rank a couple of people above him, Dennis Chamber comes to mind, but he's a great drummer. And Boyd doesn't get to showcase it much, but he's a very talented classical musician.

I'm not really into their latest stuff either, BTCS was their last album that I liked. Everything since then has been more mainstream, and that's not their strong area. They're good at doing wierd unique stuff that you don't hear anywhere else...hopefully they'll get back to their roots a little with their next studio album.

    That's my $.02

I met Carter a while back...completely ambidextrous (sp?), and not just with hsi hands and feet. He's able to do two completely separate things at once. Like when I met him, he was able do write a letter to his kid with one hand and was doing math with the other, both at the same time...damndest thing I ever saw...that's why he's able to play open handed so well and do ths stuff he does...

I really like DMB. In my opinion, they're much better together than Dave solo. I finally got to see them for the first time last fall, and I had a great time!

Dave Matthews sounds Tremendous played thu my 1.2tl's powerer by vacuum tubes. He has a different sound that some of you may not be used too. He has have an awesome drumming style, and his recordings are produced very well. Dave with Tim Reynolds did some very good acoustic guitar work. They have an unpluged cd together" Live at Luther College" with the most awesome mids and acoustic strumming/jamming you will ever hear. It give me goose bumps everytime I listen to it.
I say give him a listen.

Their earlier stuff was pretty good.

They're better than about 95% of what passes for "popular" music today, because they do actually have some musical talent.

Also give them credit for putting out some well-recorded discs.

I am not positive why I hate them, but I just don't care that much to think.

The only musical instrument I have mastered is the toilet trombone.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Used to not like them, now I love 'em.

Live at Red Rocks imo is one of their best albums if you get a chance to listen to it

That's one of the funniest things I've read, still laughing. I totally don't agree, but it's still funny as hell....
