Hey all,

Just scored these guys off of Craigslist for a whopping $60. Cabs in decent shape, drivers in excellent condition. Peerless tweets! Just hooked them up today and only played through maybe 10 songs, but very impressed so far. My first "real" speakers were a pair of Monitor 5 jr's, and have been looking for a pair of vintage Polks ever since. These seem like they will become one of my favorite speakers, and may take the place of my KEF Reference's in my main stereo. They sound fantastic with my 200 wpc Sansui, and while they still sounded good when I switched to my 10wpc Jolida tube amp, they definitely sounded thinner; seems like they like high-current more. Can't wait to play around with them more!

I got pair last week on Craigslist for $60 also. They had been through a garage sale, but no one bought them.

Sweet find on a garage sale. I've found a few amazing deals at garage sales in the past. That moment - when you walk up to something so incredible and the questions start... is this what I think it is, why did no one else notice it, is it good, does it work, is it bad, is there a problem, is it a good deal, are the planets aligned???? And so on. Great feeling to walk away with such a great find.

Receiver is great! New caps, tuner realigned, bulbs replaced. Works perfectly, and is my favorite amp I've owned so far. The KEF's in particular were surprisingly sensitive to which amp I was using, and the Sansui was the most musical.

Thanks guys! Had some more time iwht the Polks today, and they are definitely staying in the mains system. A very easy to listen to, non-fatiguing speaker that sounds great on every genre I've thrown at it. The Peerless tweet is world better than the silver dome I had on my old Monitor 5's/10's. I think aethetically, they look great, too, and happen to match the case color of the Sansui :) They're definite keepers.

Good looking system. With the grilles off the speakers it makes the whole setup very technical looking compared to my mundane system with everything hidden. I like the technical look but the boss wouldn't.

Very nice! I love how clean your system is. I'd love to make my system "clean" and conceal all the wires, but I swap equipment and move so often, I'm too lazy to keep pulling things out and redoing it every time haha. Maybe one day when I'm settled down and have the "final" system (does that ever happen?).
