Well, here it is, the Final Vinyl (rock/pop). I have about 150 great jazz albums left to list and THAT’S IT. I need to get out of this business. I haven’t had any new albums delivered here or gone out to seek any for over a year. This last batch of rock/pop jobs I obtained almost exclusively from one gentleman about two years ago. He told me that he only played most of them once while recording them onto RtR. He showed me all the reels. After a cursory exam I felt he took good/excellent care of his albums and bought a bunch. It wasn’t until I sat down here at home to grade/list them that I realized just how many look absolutely unplayed, untouched, more than pristine, whatever you want to call it. I definitely think he did not get to transfer all of them.

“UPL” is Unplayed Looking Pristine and there are a lot of these in this Final Vinyl batch. “P” is for Pristine and means just that. Like new, or perhaps new (unplayed). “NP” is near pristine. NP could mean one fingerprint, some lint, or the tiniest scratch you NEVER heard. The difference between “pristine” and “just about …” or “near pristine” could be nothing, especially for people with RCM’s. Colors in descriptions pertain to label color/s. Cover grading is A-F with +’s and –‘s in between, and will immediately follow record grading verbage. Perfect cover would be “A+”, and maybe “A++/shrink” if perfect in shrink. Pertinent data may or may not follow the cover grading. Titles may look like GH (Greatest Hits), Bo (Best of), or ST (Self-titled).
