Does anyone have any thoughts on this AVR I need one with HDMI 2.0 and of all the Major companies this one seems like the best IMHO, I have sold my Yamaha, and have a couple of Denons I need to sell. I want to match this with a 3 channel amp for my fronts.
Any thoughts? Onkyo going for their own room correction is not a deal breaker for me.

Take a look at the Onkyo 818. It is a couple of years older but can still be found new for much less, it also offers significant features that have been dropped in the newer models such as audyssey multeq xt and independent block construction.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Yeah but this one's got HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 which the 818 does not have Magnolia has it for $1099.00 plus I get 10% off from work. The Yamaha Avantage 3030 I bought a few months ago did not have that plus I sold it for only $ 100 less than what I paid for it. I looked at Pioneer, Yamaha, Denon and Integra HDMI 2.0 offerings the Integra 40.6 would be my 2 nd choice

You don't think this 4k is going to take off like planned Tony? The 55-65 inch ones prices have dropped considerably. Next year they will go for less, and if Netflix has success with their 4k streaming they will sell, and more 4k more content will become available at least that's how they the manufactures want it to work.

Nope...they priced it way out of the consumer markets of the average Joe. Plus none of the networks are planning 4k, heck they haven't even caught up to 1080p yet. You have a few BRD players that are 4k, but what movies are available.

If streaming 4k is your goal, good luck on that too. Even if Netflix did stream 4k, is your equipment like your router going to buffer that down, slow it down, even play it at all.

Will your service provider start limiting bandwidth ? Too many things are up in the air right now so I would be hesitant to make 4k a priority. Just sayin'....

There is a new codec thats made to stream 4k but I agree with it being pointless right now. video games? xbox1 is 720 but pc games are the only thing to use 4k effectively.
