Have the little Dared SL2000a pre sitting on the sidelines right now while the Rogue Perseus pre is getting all the love. She asked to come in for a few plays, so I brought her in through the HT Bypass BUT here's the catch. The Perseus is supplying the Dared the signal....

All theater aside, I have the Perseus feeding the Dared a "Fixed" signal and the Dared's output is going back into the HT Bypass on the Perseus. I'm basically doubling up on tubes and have things warming up right now. Is there any problems with this or can a brother have a little fun?

I'll say this much... it doesn't sound bad right now.

Oh man, it's absolutely more warm, there appears to be a slight loss in dynamics, but things are a lot more laid back, and I'm really digging it.

Switched it up a bit and am now going from the source straight to Dared then into Perseus as opposed to source > perseus > dared > back into perseus. I eliminated a pair of cables this way & it sounds even better with no loss of dynamics. The Dared is acting as a tube buffer into the Perseus basically and it's a fun sound. Don't know if I will keep it this way but things are more relaxed and it's sounding good.

For the sake of closure, I ended up taking the Dared out of the system and much prefer it that way haha. I was getting a little to much of a good thing!

its not crazy as long as your having fun! I have done so playing around like this to see what happen when it goes through a hybrid-pre and then also a tube pre-amp etc..
