Everyone, some more pruning of the audio collection.
Minty (Definite Audiogon 9/10) Totem Acoustic 300watt Storm subwoofer in mahogany veneer. This sub uses an 8 inch powered driver and two 8inch passive radiators to give a true 25Hz bass response. The sub can be setup via internal crossover with speaker binding posts. Or, via RCA input from a preamp section. $1000 new, selling for $525 + shipping/insurance via Fedex. Payment thru Paypal. Box measurements: added tonight.
Specifications:
The Totem Storm Sub is one of the most flexible high-performance sub-woofers available. The Storm Sub shares external cone topography and material with the two flanking passive units, resulting in a more informative and less compressed energy flow. Designed mostly for cinema/surround applications, the Storm Sub is very comfortable in a stereo or multi-channel audio environment.
The Storm Sub offers automatic power-down, its amplifier going into standby when signal is absent and reactivating automatically on signal reception. Other features include volume adjustment, variable phase dial, a pair of low-level RCA inputs and a crossover enabling/disabling switch to use low frequency management and control from processor.
Design features
8 active diver / (2) 8 passive radiators for precise articulation and bass extension
Internal crossover offers a seamless blend to our loudspeakers
Detachable power cord and isolation feet included
Designed for A/V stereo applications
Slow burn fuse protection

Gosh, if there were some grills to protect the driver & passives I'd be all over this. The kids would love to touch the moving circles...

Son of a beotch! This would have gone perfectly with the Rainmakers I just bought, same color even, super bummed that I missed this sale. #$%@^@!
Let us know how you like it, in the meantime my search for another one of these continues... -

It will go perfect with my mahogany Hawks too
This is my first "high-end" sub. I have an old $200 JBL sub in place right now and I'm eager to hear the differences a good musical sub can make. Will post my impressions soon! -
Thanks for the quick shipping Mark! Item arrived and was exactly as described, mint. It's tiny but blends perfectly with my Totem Hawks and packs a punch.

Glad it arrived safe and sound. It was tough to let it go but sometimes........Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

I have this up for sale again but for $25 less. It's a mighty little sub. Let me know!

Very interested in this. Still looking for a musical sub. From one review I read online this might be it. What are your thoughts?
Can you PM me shipping to 01534?
Thanks -

To be honest I don't have a ton of experience with subs, but I'll tell you this one packs quite the punch for it's size and that Totem makes wonderfully musical speakers. I have the matching Totem Hawks which have been favorites of mine for some time now and the sub blended perfectly.

Very musical little sub, quick and punchy.
My father just installed one with his Totem Arro's.

Great. Thanks for the feedback. I can't wait to try this (yes, already purchased). I am not looking for loud bass, but more accurate musical bass. I am pairing this with VR3 modded LSi9's.
A question I have... for the passive radiators do I hookup an external amp? Or do they work only in passive mode due to the pressure generated by the powered driver? If the later, then all that is needed is a line level audio signal, correct?
Thanks. -
Passives need nothing other than the powered drivers working and a sealed enclosure.Pio Elete Pro 520
