Thanks to Beats Music I stumbled across a new band, Circus Maximus. The best way I can think of to describe their sound is a cross between Dream Theater and Queensryche. The guy has alot of the vocal tendencies and sound of Geoff Tate and their songs tend to borrow alot of elements from Dream Theater. I liked what I heard enough to buy all three of their albums and am liking what I hear so far.
Their first couple albums are more my style, their latest album Nine is more melodic and may be easier listening for most people.
They're not going to replace DT or Queensryche and is probably not something I'll be listening to much in a year or two from now. They're a lot like Katatonia for me in that respect, really good music but maybe just a bit too generic to be something I come back to very often.
At any rate, if you're looking for something along these lines check these guys out, they're worth a listen.
