I want to install some Black Hole 5 inside my SDA 1c's, RTA 12c's and perhaps my 10a's. From what I have read, most people are installind a 3" - 4" strip behind the MW 65xx. Should a strip be installed behind the tweeters also? Will most vintage Polks (like 5's, 7's etc.) benefit from the Black Hole 5?

That is correct, I did install some behind the tweeters as well, didn't notice as much improvement as I did putting it behind the drivers, IMO it's not needed but YMMV.. It's not going to hurt anything by trying it..

Yes, the strips in my case 2B cabinets went from the top of the cabinet behind the tweeter spaced a few inches apart and then down to the bottom of the mid woofers. This stuff does exactly as advertised so do not extend the strips into the passive cavity. As far as a mechanical mod (not talking rdo194s---x-overs) it had the most dramatic effect on the sound or lack of it. Yes there was a hollow sound to begin with, but back up a bit if you Dynamatted the basket spars this took away any ringing or rebound off the metal and that also did work well. The B-H 5 dead-ended the space so completely I wasn't sure if it took away from that hollow sound and it took me a while to actually get used to it. I opened these cabinets enough to have pulled the strips out if I did not think they did what they were supposed to do and then some. I was lucky I got my sheets through a C/L ad and the guy threw in a few free strips as well. He cut his w/ a small blade jig saw, I used a very sharp utility knife. If needed for a large area it would add up very quickly but it does work. Just common sense heads up, make sure the area your going to lay down the strips is vacummed and tack ragged clean. You want a level clean and clear area. Good luck...
