I"ve got a pending sale on the router, forgot to update this thread last night.

John, you'd have a couple options:

1 - You could just set up your gateway as a modem only and run the ethernet to the router. I've done this with my parents' setup and it works fine. The U-Verse box they had didn't work very well in their house, the Apple router did a much better job,
2 - Another option would to just set the router up to extend the wifi range, but then you lose the advanced features of the router.
