So I'm on a conference bridge waiting for the customer's India guy.
I've done four of these windows with them, and the guys are always
60 to 90 minutes late getting started.
What, they can't afford a wrist watch? Don't know how to convert time zones?
It's scheduled in UCT, pretty hard to screw that up.
Just sitting here pissed off. Means I have to stay up a hour later working.

    I know the feeling. Half the year we have these meetings at night, the other half early in the morning. Spreads the pain around the world. India sucks, not only because they are taking jobs, but because they are 12 hours offset.

    I like the work, it's the nonsense part that gets me. Endless hours talking about it and the whole thing

    The idea of punctuality is something that just doesn't exist in many other cultures. It is something that is really only valued in the US/Canada, Germany, Britain, and perhaps a few others. To other cultures, time is flexible and circular, not rigid like we have been taught.

    Being busy doesn't mean there's any job security. That's how it got busy.
    Layoffs continue. 5% every year for 14 years. It's happening everywhere.
    All my customers have the same plan. It's a horrid cycle with no end in sight.

    So I am at work on this thread now b/c I just hung up on a call waiting for the "offshore" resources to get on the call. Even the one's that are here are ALWAYS LATE to everything... I even think there is one here who is even late making it to the bathroom...I won't even get into the fact that they can't do anything right the first time and yet they always say they know what to do or how 15 of them will eat together in a cubicle... Sucks2beme.... you got company!
