Anyone every done this before? I watched a few videos. And damn...I didn't realized you had to take the whole damn phone and every little piece completely apart. And those little screws....I got big hands!

Any pointers?

Take it to a local mall and have someone do it. ;)

It only took me 6 hours to do it and I swore never again. Unless you have a jewelers magnifier it is hard to see what you are doing with the tiny screws involved.

Once you have done it, it is heart warming to know that Chinese women with tiny little fingers and x-ray vision are sacrificing their talents for those of us with huge appetites for their wares. I guess if it came down to it, I would replace mine again if needed. I did get a case for it after the fall.

Thanks! I can follow directions....no matter what my wife says. hehe And the screen came with all the tools needed. Think I need to get hold of a magnifying glass first though.

I run a couple cell phone repair shops, if you have any trouble I'd be happy to help. If it seems too much of a pain in the arse, you're more than welcome to send it to me with the parts and I'll ship it back same day, no cost for Polk brethren.

Dave that is very cool of you! I plan to take a jab at doing it this Friday when I am off work. And before the Guiness start calling out to me. ;)

If I get in over my head I might just take you up on that offer. :)

It didn't seem like that hard a job.

But then I worked for Hasselblad for thirty years repairing cameras and lenses. I am used to working with .7mm (and smaller) screws and only touching anything with tweezers and looking through jewelers loops and lighted magnifiers. I still have a set of German taps and dies that start at 2.3mm and go down to. .2mm
