I have some DIY panels for my man cave and planning to make some for the HT. Upstairs, in the main rig, however, I have no treatments and anything I do get will need to have some high WAF.

Anyone heard of or used RoomTunes? Looks like they have decent WAF, and I could probably pull it off. I was thinking these for the first reflection point, just to get started.

    Bump...

    Anyone heard of these?

I did some research and it seems like some folks thinks the developer is a kook, but I think that is mostly related to some of his other products.

I am interested in these for the WAF...and if they have absorption material...I would think they should be fine.

I can't speak for this product with authority, but I like the design, just seem a little small at 1'x2'. If you have a fairly big room it might take a few.

Yea, I was thinking 3 of them next to each other with two inches in-between each one.

I checked for some reviews on these and there's some info over at the audioasylum site on some of his products over the years. Sounds like the roomtunes aren't made of fiberglas like the corning 703 panels, he doesn't really say what he uses. Maybe rockwool ? Or foam?!?! No way to get WAF with the nice GIK or similar panels covered in the fabric by Guilford of Maine?

Yea, it seems weird that there's not a lot of info about them.

It's a tough spot to make look good. I'm basically trying to cover first reflection on one wall 3-5' off the floor. I may be able to get away with some nice GIK or DIY panels. I'll probably stay away from the roomtunes since I can't find much about them.

Since you already have some experience with making DIY panels, maybe have your wife pick out some nice material that would look appealing and cover the panels or rockwool if you prefer. Looking forward to seeing some pics of them in the future.
