I've been thinking about having my Pioneer television ISF calibrated. Has anyone on the forum had this done? It seems to be quit expensive and I was just wondering if this is worth it or should I just save my $$$ and stick with the Video Essentials setup disc.

Everybody I have chatted with says it is well worth it. A local ISF calibrator is going to run me 275, but a touring ISF pro will run you up to the 450+ range. Have you looked into the hidden ISF menu on your TV? My Hitachi has a good hundred or so settings that you can tweak in the ISF menu, and they are not perfect from the factory, I've had to change some. Hopefully one of our polkies has had this done and can chime in.

To be completely honest with you PolkThug, I've been told how to get to the advanced menu but I was also informed that if you don't know what you are doing you could get into serious trouble. Something to do with a bunch of codes or some crap like that. I haven't even gone into the menu for the simple fact that I'm scared once I get there, 1) temptation will kill me not to screw around with it and 2) may not be able to get back out of it. :D

Its always a best pratice to note down all the service menu settings before you change any thing. It is ok to tweak yourself if you are sure about a particluar setting. I changed my Samy's service setings to disable the SVM and to change the color decor a litle bit, and so far I am very happy with the results.

The difference is impressive and well worth it.
