Cryo'd straw of a larger diameter will improve your beer drinking experience.

On a serious note, many beers, especially the ones that have been around for 100s of years, come with instructions on how to pour them, from which type of glass you should drink them (i.e. chalice or tulip, etc.), and at what temperature the liquid should be. It makes a huge difference if you're drinking say St.Bernardus Abt.12 from a chalice glass or from a regular beer glass, and if it's the right (6-7C?) temperature or if it's deep frozen. So drinking such beers from a straw would be a waste of that beer. On the other hand, if someone is drinking Bud through a straw, let them do it.

I won't/don't drink anything out of straw at least not yet.

However, If it was the last beer on this planet and I had to drink it through a straw, I would not hesitate.

John, are you serving drinks at Polkfest through silly straws???

I don't want to start a straw war, but I just use a straight, generic straw. Tastes the same to me. I even did a triple blind taste test to prove it out.

Heck yeah messed up or not we had a beer connection in high school unlimited Sclitz Malt Liquor Bulls (look out for the bull look out for the Schlitz malt liquor bull was how the commercial went) we would get 3 or 4 cases of the 16 oz cans keep them in a snow bank and our weekend was set and yes straws were used it got you drunk faster and I do remember a time or two using a silly straw, some of my old buddies are messed up individuals, I still hang out with some of them no more straws though.

Natural Light, but I think that it performs several times above its price point, a real bargain. I have on occasion performed a half blind test with other leading (more expensive) brands. I didn't always notice always notice a difference.
