Thorium Toothpaste. Also used in nuclear reactors. It's highly radioactive in it's fully refined form. The toothpaste isn't.

Nice link ....but that info has been out there for years now. What it boils down to is....it's all about the money. Bad food drives the HC industry, and who owns that now ? Because those agencies are bought and paid for by our Captains of Industry who have no "moral" qualms about poisoning us as long as their margins go up! So let's see, we have Gov't agencies that don't regulate anything? Hmmmm...that should make some here happy, no? lol --Sorry I couldn't resist.
Reality, it's a B$%^h!

Partially true CNH. We have too much in area's that really don't need it and not enough in others. The so called "Captains of industry" wouldn't enter the equation if the 2 were separated between corporations and government, but sadly they are almost one in the same. Why ? Again....it's about the money.
Question then becomes where do you fit in in all this...your needs, your benefits ? Answer....you don't. Unless either 2 entities can use you to some degree, then your just a farm animal to them.HT SYSTEM-

You guys do know they used to put cocaine and opium in everything?
Yes there are some things not so healthy put in food.
Too much for anyone to keep track of.
Overall, we are lucky for the food and drug regulation we have.
The big problem right now is the large amount of imports
they need to go through, and of course, running the
deep pocket obstacle course big players have in place."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

I do...as best I can anyway. I'll buy from local farms before I buy crap at the grocery store. Being in Chicago though doesn't do me any favors for good wholesome food in the winter. So this fall, the family is getting together and we are going to have a canning party. Teach everyone how to can that good stuff you can get in the warmer months. Teach those young-uns something too.HT SYSTEM-

manufacturing co.'s in China polluting the rivers/oceans-that stuff circulates into the world wide water pool
too many oil spills to count
so much pesticides used on farms, all our fruits/vegs are tainted with neurotoxins
hormones given to cows
the pollution in the air
so many chemical toxins in our food, water, air
Prime example of chemical pollution causing catastrophic health problems is
the continuing rising rate of Autism, the CDC has to change the prevalence rate of autism every 2-4 years for the past 20 years
Currently:

Be an informed consumer, if you don't like what's in the stuff don't eat it. IMO, it's not what's in the food that is the problem. It what we eat and how much we eat, drink, smoke and live sedentary lives. I will take the selection of the food available in an American food market any day as compared to Most countries in Asia, India, the Middle East, South America and Eastern Europe. And yes, I have been to all those places.Carl

Because of the mass pollution of rivers, etc. in China, I avoid any food product from that country. Which means that other than Seattle's Best decaf coffee I don't purchase anything from Walmart grocery stores.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

That only works up to a point. What happens when everything has junk in it....don't eat ? You have to admit, there's more food on the shelves with garbage in it/added to it than without. If the goal is to eat healthy, truly the goal....then stop chasing out the small farmers from the outskirts of urban areas. Stop making it so hard for organic farmers.....heck, all farmers in general. Eating healthy though, is not the goal. Eating what they want you to eat is.HT SYSTEM-

No...affecting weather patterns is whats more so incapable of man. No one person here....or anywhere as far as I know likes pollution....yeah give me more types. There has to be balance....in everything. If the will power was there to put pressure on China to do better in that regard, they would, but the will isn't there.
On the flip side, if you somehow think that giving a central government more money will in some way reduce the amount of pollution, your sadly mistaken. They don't care about what chemicals are in the food, land, air, or water. It's about the money...and when the big corporations pay enough, they get what they want. It's about being able to levy a tax on something else. It all sounds good, like Obamacare and modified mortgages, but underneath they lose their luster. Just another sales pitch from used car salesmen, and people keep falling for it, time and time again.
That said, is the balance I speak of out of whack ? If you look at other countries, I'd say so. I think we do pretty good here in general in keeping a balance. We hold no will power or sway over India and China, 2 of the worst polluters on the planet.
Should not the pressure to change be put there....instead of here ? Just saying....even if we do reduce our pollution by 20%, and they keep increasing theirs, what has the world gained ? Instead we kiss China's feet, outsource jobs to India, so any future change is then asked of the meek....Americans/Europeans. No others have their feet held to the fire.HT SYSTEM-

Have to agree with a lot of the above, Tony. And add that most of these problems overreach what ANY one GOV'T could deal with even if it weren't inherently corrupt (just like most corporations, Wall Street, and those horrid talking heads that apologize for EVERYTHING corps do, I might add--as if those guys have "morals", lol).
We've created this global Behemoth that is beholden to no one, no nation, no rationality, and DEFINITELY has NO moral compass (we even have an academic discipline called Economics that is AMORAL and thinks that's a GOOD THING)!. It's profit, profit, profit. Even in China with its monolithic political structure, the Capital boys can pay off most officials to get their way until they go TOO FAR that is. Then, occasionally, someone might pay a price. But not often.
Huxley wrote about these "entities" which have grown far too large for the people in the '50s (Big Gov't and Big Business). Beholden to whom, are they? Not you and not me! And it only gets worse, bigger and bigger, farther and farther from the common man. And yet people are willing to give Business a FREE pass and only rag on Gov't when they are strange bedfellows who live a symbiotic existence while "pretending" to be two different things. lol It's all a joke.
Politics in the U.S. Now that's funny! For those into state's rights vs. the Gov't, you think states can deal with Global corporations any "better" than the U.S. Gov't which has shown its impotence?
States are smaller and easy prey for an Economics without humanity!
