Is there bad blood between him and the current incarnation of Journey? Or do they tour with a different frontman simply because Steve Perry has been on the sidelines? If Steve wanted to reunite with Journey, would it happen? Or are there bridges burned?
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Burned, dynamited and buried deeper than the Titanic at this point... things do change, and both sides have spoken of it, but I think Neil Schon grew tired of it being Journey featuring Steve Perry.

Bad blood from years ago is hard to overcome. Steve Perry had a lot of health issues himself, and also his wife, which is why you never heard boo from him. One of the greatest voices though, can't take that away from the man.

Don't know about the current status between Journey and Steve Perry, but I seriously doubt any reunion tour will take place. I can see Steve Perry touring on his own again. In fact, it was his successful solo tours during the mid 90s that gave rise to what would eventually turned out to be his last album with Journey.

For those who wants the whole story, the "Behind The Music" episode on Journey is very interesting.

That was interesting....thanks for the link. I can see though how the other band members would be skeptical of Steve's commitment to a future tour. He'll still stand in my mind anyway, as one of the greatest voices in music.

His voice was definitely great. But from the video in the foxnews link in the original post, I'm not so sure of how much of that voice is left.

+ 1 , I grew up listening to everything they did, still have all of the original vinyl!

Arnel Pineda does an admirable job with the vocals (which made them what they were, IMO), but after seeing their concert in Manila,
I think if he had to, the current drummer Deen Castronovo could pull off the original Perry sound too.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Man, when the Chicago White Sox won the World Series a decade or so ago, "Don't Stop Believin'" was their theme song on that run--At some point one of the local news channels got Steve P on to sing a few bars for the newscast, and that man had NO voice left.

I'd be shocked if he could ever get it together enough to tour again; I mean' if a voice is a musical instrument, his in 2005 was "trumpet after being hit by steam roller".
