Looking for a decent power cable

I have been looking for a good, inexpensive AC cable and I keep coming back to the PS Audio AC-5 for mainly build quality and price/performance based on reviews. That being said, I would like to stay under the $150 mark for 1 meter in length so I'm curious if I should possibly look elsewhere or stick to the AC-5.

I have been looking for a used cable to save some coin since I'm after about 3 cables.

For anyone who has used this cable, are there others that are comparable at this price point or am I spending over $200 to better this cable?

    Wireworld Aurora's are great cables, Its the most popular cable I choose to sell. The Pangea ac9 se is another outstanding cable and for the money the best there is me thinks.

    I actually use both, use the pangea AC9 on my Adcom amp, and the Shunyata Venom on my WOO WA3 :) got the Venom on sell for like $99 about 6 months ago.

    I ran across a few things I forgot I had stored away. A carver m-1.5t I totally forgot about. Audioquest Mammoth speaker cable. and...............

    I suppose I could give it a whirl...why not. I need 4 cords but 3 for right now...the 4th is for the center channel amp so it's not a huge deal.

    So far I have managed to acquire 2 AC-9's and 1 PS-5....I should still at least try the Venom 3 since there's a return policy but I don't really want to abuse that just to test but I guess that's what it's there for.

    Would like 4 AC-5's but that's a stretch on the wallet, I'll PM you my info and I will try to give an honest opinion.

    If I can find room for them... :smile: The first AC-9 arrived today, man...this is a serious cable, larger than a garden hose.

    I figured I would try it on the Ref 50 preamp first, yes... it made an immediate difference. First thing I noticed was increased stereo separation and a cleaner phantom center.

    The opening of Peter Gabriel's "Don't give up" I believe it's a Chapman stick, but with the stock cord you can clearly hear the chords, but the softer chords you are reaching to hear the detail but with the AC-9 it stood right out. Sounds like the treble opened up slightly to grab the remaining detail but it was very noticeable and the synthesizer hum was much less..not a droning sound.

    Few Dire Straits tracks from the album "On Every Street", I found myself looking farther to the right with my eyes shut than before, credit the cleaner and wider stereo separation.

    That's about it for now, but so far it was an immediate difference and I can only wait to use one on the CD/DAC and the amp...this was just the pre with 5 minutes on the cable but has been used before.

    The 1st time I saw them I felt the same LOL :)

    I use some Pangea AC-14' for source's & pre-amp ( not so dang big ) and use the Ac-9 for the amp's & my Venom 3 is powering my WOO WA3 headphone amp.
