Im incompetent at describing the nuances of the sound i get from gear, but if you own a nice sda rig, just put on the Eurythmics vinyl "Sweet dreams are made of this", many songs are worthy, but the last song on side B, titled "In the city"

Even after a little time getting used to the SDA effect, I still had to resist the urge to get up and check to see if some of the sounds were actually from outside the front door off to my left.

And i dont mean that in a hokey, gimmick way, these sounds were organic and integrated with the music, not just random noises.

I know this is old news here to many, experienced decades ago by many members, but other than the 2 minute demo I was given by my coworker at stereo village in atlanta in the early 80s we worked at as warehouse guys, using a technics vhs audio playback, I had not experienced this.

To my friend, steve engstrom, who took me from the warehouse to the showroom for a few moments and sat me down in the chair in front of these new speaks all the sales guys were talking about, heres to you.

Like you, I'm new to the SDA effect. I have to give ZLTFUL many thanks for hooking me up with these, in a very, VERY generous karma. For the last few weeks, I've been listening to my new SDA2's without the interconnect and even without, they are amazing performers. Last night, I went ahead and made a temporary cable using alligator clips(old pin/pin connectors) just to see what I had been missing and WOW!!!! It's been a long time since I've gotten goosebumps from a listening experience. The soundstage has increased dramatically and I'm hearing things well beyond the boundaries of my room. I was watching Man of Steel on blu ray this afternoon and while it definitely sounded good before the cable, it has never sounded like THIS. Even my fiance was a little impressed. She still thinks I'm an idiot.

So you know, and i hear ha.

Deb and i got a nice set of 2bs from jerryj12 here a few years ago.

We were not impressed, BUT, I had a very different set of components feeding them, and we all know that means the world.

Thanks to advice from the guys here, we progressed along our journey, and im sure those same 2bs would sound very diff in this room right now.

Now if only Deb was here with me to experience the diff, all would be well.

I am very happy for you, and kudos to the zman, i remember him offering that awesome karma, many happy hours to you and yours.

She is right there with you my friend, and she can here the glorious sounds better than you do. Next time you listen, just look to the angel nesting on your shoulder and give her a little wink and a smile...

Scottyboy, I as well have obtained a pair of 1c's and agree with you that the are very nice. Had some minor things to correct with wiring mistakes and of course it changed the sound completely. I have to dynamat and install hurricane nuts and give the caps more burn in time. I also ordered new Erse inductors and am anxious to here how they will sound when all is complete. Enjoy!!
