A dear friend of my sister, formerly her therapist for 13 years, lost her husband to cancer several years ago.
She is finally able to deal with letting go of his audio gear, something he had a lot of fun with.
My sister and i just spent the last couple days at their lovely Beloved home in helen Ga. they built over several years together,
I just brought home the first load in the highlander, there will be at least one more, and i will either need a friend with a pickup to go with me for two pairs of the speaks, or to eventually meet someone there for them to view and listen to them.
its going to take some time to try and check out what is worth testing, and the primo older infinitys still there will need the usual foam surrounds, but it will be worth it, as she is just looking to give people a good deal, and does not just want to give the stuff away, she has no idea what any of this is worth, it was her husbands thing, sound familiar?
Anyway, it was a wonderful weekend, both she and her 76 year old fiancee are still grieving over their lost spouses, But they were paitient listeners to my emotions and had great advice about what its like farther down the road I am walking right now, and to cap it off, i had a basement listening room, a living room 2 channel tv setup, and an upstairs study area to check out, not knowing what gear might be there.
It was kinda like being on the price is right and waiting for the curtain to fly open, and find out what may be in play.
As i get things sorted, checked, and look up fair prices as much as possible, i will be listing items, some are worthy of shipping, which i will be glad to do, and some will be local,as shipping would probably blow the value element of good but older gear.
BTW, I still have their home in atlanta to check out and the stuff he had in their Psychiatric practice office.

Good luck. I have helped a couple of old friend's wives get rid of their deceased husbands ham radio gear.
It is an astonishing amount of work. And when we were trying to take down the radio tower it reminded me of a Three Stooges Comedy.
Luckily none of the people that fell off the roof and tower died or went through the roof. -
I have seen ham gear for sale on cl occasionally, they seem to be a smaller but just as fervent a group as home audio folks.
I can just picture someone sitting by their rig wondering where on earth the next person they talk to will be.
Or is that short wave, or are they the same, anyway, congrats for helping, karma works many ways, the older you get, the more you know that.humpty dumpty was pushed
