Kenwood KM-894 amp: common ground or no?

So I've got an early pair(more on that in a sec) of SDA2's that are being powered by a Kenwood KM-894 amp. For the price I paid, it does a commendable job. So my first question is, is this thing common ground? I believe it was originally meant to be used with a Kenwood pre/intergrated amp. I have been using the speakers without the interconnect cable so whether or not the amp was common ground was of little importance. But I just finished making my own cable using insulated alligator clips but before I hook it up, I want to make sure I have a common ground amp. Here is a link to the manual: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/UserFiles/File/UnitedStates/Home/Manuals/km894.pdf

My SDA2's are an early set with the funky connector as seen in the pic. So my second question is, and I think I pretty much have the answer but want to be absolutely sure. Is this the correct way to connect the interconnect cable: Pin 1 on left speaker to Pin 2 on right speaker?

Thanks in advance!
