How to coil cables

Was taught this trick to coil cables and it works.

    When I lived in SoCal and was racing silboats we would coil the line like that so it would run free when we needed it to. It works great and never tangles like when you try and keep twisting it to coil like a hose.

    I wish I could remember this technic but an electrician was rolling up a really long extension cord and knotting it in such a way that when you pulled on the end it releases as it should and stayed pefectly straight. There must be a pro term for this method and I don't know it and I'm guilty of doing the wrap around the shoulder method for sure. It does not consolidate the cable all that much but it makes managable for the next use.

    If its for storage, no issues but never coil a cable in use. It will create an electrical field and will pick up" NOISE". Just saying.

    Left winger, that method is jest a long series of slip knots the is fast and easy to store long extension cords, if that's the one you are talking about
