Ron loves a film = don't even rent. -
Sid,
you should have put the option of who cares?
I use AIM, but not MSN. but i don't really care either way.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Sounds good to me. AIM is a terrible program, it has real problems connecting users directly to share files, etc., even though all users use software developed by the same company. Microsoft has plenty of experience making things compatible with each other, even if they don't get it right all the time, (try networking a non-XP machine with a an XP machine). Thats not too bad though, i'd hate to imagine the compatibility issues between two versions of AIM written 5 years apart.

on another note, I smell an anti-trust suit from Yahoo! et. al if this actually goes through, and I would be willing to place a wager on it if anyone is game

The new AIM is so much better...oh my yes...lol
Anyways, AIM is already adopting some MSN features, and some Yahoo features. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 merge.
Fact is, AIM rules the profile, the buddy list, the direct connect, MSN rules the Buddy Icon, software (file sharing, video, chat), etc. Yahoo rules nothing in my book - totally lame.
AIM and MSN NEED to merge, and hopefully they will follow through with it. I'm all for it.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I never use 2 chat programs at the same time, i just use Trillian which has AIM, MSN, IRC, ICQ, Yahoo all meshed into one... it works rather nicelycats.vans.bag...

I use AIM and I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I could care less if they merge.Microsoft has plenty of experience making things compatible with each other, even if they don't get it right all the time
Yeah, try taking an Access 97 database and converting it to Access 2000. NOW, try opening that now converted database back up in 97. NOPE! 97 won't even be able to read it. We have this problem at work. Alot of our Gov. contracts are still on Office 97, which means alot of our engineers have to either stay at 97 OR we load 97 on a seperate partition.
WHAT A PAIN IN THE ****! THANKS FOR THAT ONE MICROSOFT!
JohnNo excuses! -
I think they are all going towards one compatible system, but each program will stay the same I'd imagine.
But like MSN could talk to AIM, but not share files, that kinda thing I bet would happen.LSi 9/C/FX

That could be a possibility. However, AIM and MSN both need to realize if they do THAT. Then they would both need to make their setup better than the other or on par. Because personally if they did that; I would use AIM. MSN is great, but I like AIM's buddy list layout.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I am also a satisfied Trillian user... -
I used Trillian....it only took it 5 times to delete every buddy list on AIM and MSN about 5 times that I decided I didnt like it.......- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
