Really odd goings on, one person bough my krell 550 the other day and paypal sent an email about suspicious activity and took the payment back. Go a Day later and I receive an email from ebay explaining about the users account being hacked. When I spoke to the buyer after contacting paypal I said all he needed to do was log into his account if he wanted it. He was talking back and forth and seemed really nice.

Well on Monday a buyer bought my krell 550 and I did everything right. I printed the shipping label, added signature and INSURANCE!!!YES INSURANCE!!! . I made sure the package was going to the verified add rthat matched the file and shipped it out the same day on Monday. The buyer yesterday left me feedback and I even offered him a great deal in the krell 350 matching cd player. He declined and talked about his Ayon cd player etc.

Now for today, I get an email from pp not ebay about an unauthorized transaction from that account and they have taken the Money back from me. The krells on its way there right now so I need to call these guys because I dont see why I have to refund some one before I get my item back. Why would a cyber criminal be able to log into ebay for days and chat and have access to both pp and ebay only to buy something and send it to the confirmed pp add?

In that article it said that no purchases have been made with the hacked data and that seems like BS. Ebay has taken down the history for this listing Krell 550 integrated $5000 msrp!! (321340309523).

Paypal basically just said to me that I have to sit back and enjoy my evening, not to worry about it being delivered? The have funds to reimburse me for such things? WTF are they on about lol, I dont wants some persons grubby hands all over my item only to have it returned and refunded.

Why do you post these threads? Is it for the excellent advice you get on how to handle these situations you get yourself into? Or is it for all the sympathy you get? Or maybe it's because you're full of it and are just craving attention?

Still baffles me at why he's so surprised dealing with so many unknowns, even international unknowns, that fraud somehow doesn't register on his radar.

Here's a clue....stop using paypal and Ebay and request wired transfer of funds. Get the money solid in your hands before shipping. That will weed out the nasties to a large degree. May cut down your audience, but who wants a larger audience if it's full of fraudsters.

Here's another clue....flipping gear and the time it takes up, and what little you'll make, get a real job.

I've long thought it was true, but this thread is my final proof that this is PFB's schtick.

And let's be honest, not bad if you think about all the wild and crazy misadventures.

Ignoring the whole PFB is full of cr@p aspect of this thread, it does raise an interesting question on eBay selling, especially now that the news has broken that eBay's been hacked.

If PFB's situation were actually real, and not the invented rantings of an attention-starved lunatic, what actually happens? If I'm selling an item and I get an email from eBay telling me that the item has been sold, then I get a paypal message saying that the item has been paid for and instructing me to ship the item, can eBay rightfully come back later on and say "Whoops, the buyer's account was hacked, we're taking the money back from you"? Especially after I've already shipped the item? I would think that the responsibility for someone's eBay account being hacked would lie with eBay, not the seller, right?

The eBay breach was in Feb-March. It was just now being brought public. There is no real threat and the breach has zero to do with PFBs recent issues. I do on the other hand, find the frequency that these type of things that happen to PFB to be near paranormal/supernatural in their nature and thus will never stand under the same tree with him in a storm. I personally did over 1000 domestic/international online sales transactions this past year without a single fraud case involved and thus stand back at a safe distance just shaking my head in disbelief. I don't get it........

It's pure fiction, Dennis. A poor soul craving attention. I've been on eBay since 1998, and have selling since 2001. Not one instance of fraudulent activity.

a few years ago there were a whole lot of krell listings from UK on ebay.
all from users who hadn't had any recent dealings, none in audio.
all at cheap buy it now.
I emailed couple of quick questions out on some- all listings were pulled down.
Krell stuff just seems to attract scams like a lightning rod.

I bought my Krell amp from a Craigslist ad. Drove to the guy's house, heard the amp first, then took that bad boy home with me.

Here is a question from a guy in Poland thats a little iffy,"Hello
Are these exactly 10ft from spade to spade and how long is the tail (from interface to speaker),is it the regural lenghts(aprox.20 inches)?
And I have this question about wiring the money from my account to yours, woul id be accepted?Shipment after you receive the money, off course."

I have done a straight to bank tranfer before from Chris at parts connection and he said ' Its not like I can steel money out of your account by you giving me your bank details' So I did and the transaction went fine.
