You, like me, probaly never heard of Drew Struzan.

However, i guarantee you have seen many of his works of art.

Starting with album covers such as "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", several alice cooper covers, including "Welcome to my nightmare"

He then moved on to movie posters, Everything from Star Wars to Indiana Jones,Muppet movies, Blade Runner, to just about every really good poster art made since the 70s, which, by the way is dying out due to photoshopping, now they grab some pics from the movie, slap them onto a poster and throw them out there.

This is beautiful art, with a texture you cant get from clicking on a computer program.

I would have enjoyed the doc more if they had showed more of him actually creating the work, much of the show was superstar actors, directors, artists, even Frank Frazetta, whose art was used in the famous molly hatchett covers.

His early life was sad, and said his parents just did not love him, and he obsessed with drawing, even before he spoke, remembering drawing on the toilet paper because that was the only paper in the house.

But instead of lashing out, turning against others to make them feel his pain, he met the right girl, they had a son who has followed in his footsteps, and the end of the doc shows them playing with their precious little grandson, i liked that part very much.
