Some 5:1 high rez SACD's coming from Audio Fidelity soon. Exciting stuff! (Stereo sections as well for those who don't do surround). Neat.

The guys at sa-cd.net have been spamming the hell out of Audio Fidelity to get MC SACD. Looks like it worked, shame.

Meh, I'm not into 5.1 Channel music. I would rather have single layer stereo SACD's.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I understand the stereo perspective, but why just single-layer?

One thing I liked about the RCA Living Stereo SACDs is that they were originally recorded in the 1950s with a L/R and center channel. This is how stereo is done right, but you need a multi-channel system in order to properly play them back as recorded.

With a hybrid you get the best of both worlds; stereo, and multi-channel for those who have setup a decent multi-channel system.

I do not mind them going that direction. If done right they're actually pretty good like say Elton Johns, done wrong its a mess. Wonder how much longer it takes to do multi vs Stereo? Heck at this point in the game I'm just glad there are engineers/producers who still want to tackle SACD production so why not kill two birds with one stone at the same time.

And Elton already has a bunch of unreleased 5.1 mixes ready to go.

    Recent Steve Hoffman Twitter posting:
We will have at least 10 multichannel SACD's in the pipeline, remastered by me or Kevin Gray from AF. If successful, there will be more.

Mike Bloomfield has confirmed "Super Session" will be released by Audio Fidelity as a multi-channel SACD. "Super Session" was originally planned as a Sony Music multi-channel SACD about 10 years ago, but the release was ultimately cancelled.

That's great. I hope they can smooth out the edge that recording has.

Elton Johns SACD's are some of the best ones done..

I have no interest in 5.1 SACD's, but I am glad they are still making SACD, I also wish somebody would get off their ****, and get some of the other catalogs of other artist out on SACD, not just reissue something that has already been done 5 times in a different way..

And put some stuff out that I am interested in for a change..

I can't agree enough with most of your post( I don't mind 5.1). I just wish they would FINALLY do Aerosmith "Rocks" gee it's been in the pipeline for years:)
