anthem amp2 with a low level hum

Dawgfish apparently thought he had not been generous enough to me,he only gave me a jolida phono pre, denon 2900 disc player, multiple sets of quality ICs,Spin clean disc washer, and some other things.
So he also brought over an Anthem Amp2 when i got my SDA 1cs, along with several sets of tubes to roll.
The only thing is there is a low level hum, not noticeable when music is playing, but during softer passages it is noticeable.
I swapped the tubes that were in it, as well as moving the entire gear stack to the side, and tried to keep power and signal cables separate as much as possible.
Any thoughts on other solutions.
I do have a carver tfm25 i was using, it has no hum, but i gotta think the anthem has more guts to drive these big boys.
Also, i like the idea of the anthem paired with my sonic frontiers preamp.
Any advice would be welcome.

Hello,
Am I correct that there's humming if nothing but the speakers are connected to the amp? Is the noise a humming or a low level buzzing?
Are any of the speaker wires near the main AC transformer?
Ken -
More of a low level buzzing.
It is there even when the preamp is not connected.
To tell the truth, I dont know if the transformer is close to the wires, is that in the area where the ac plug attaches?
If so, then the answer is no, they are on either side, the plug is in the middle.humpty dumpty was pushed -
As a test are you able to move the amp and one speaker (it could be a small easier to move speaker) to another room in your house? This would tell if the problem is specific to that location or not.

I can do that tomorrow.
BTW, this same setup, except for the carver amp played with no hum.
Also, as part of the process of moving the rig from the piece of furniture it had always been on, to the side of the room on another little end table, i Plugged everything into the surge protector as usual, as i had always used to plug all stereo gear in.
Except the anthem, that was plugged directly into the wall outlet, thinking that might be it, but no luck.
One other question, am i right the anthem, generally speaking, is a better, ballsier power source for a set of speakers such as the 1cs, as opposed to the carver.
I know it is much heavier.
And BTW ken, thank you for helping me here.humpty dumpty was pushed
