Hi Guys,

My kids now exploring my vinyl collection.

Left hand speaker low volume despite change of plug.

Right speaker output via amp fine

Would it need a new cartridge?

Or is there another fix I haven,t thought of?

Also anyone know the number / type of new cartridge I might need

Many thanks for any advice

    Hello,
Is the sound balanced from any other source the system has? FM radio for example.

    Hi Kenneth

All the other inputs are fine..CD, Tape decks and Tuner

Seems to be just the Left channel of the Turntable

Okay, that isolates it to the turntable and its circuitry. Do you feel comfortable swapping the wires on the back of the cartridge? Or, is your unit a "P" mount where the cartridge attaches to the tone arm in a plug-in arrangement?
The reason is that, at this point, we don't know if the problem is with the cartridge or the phono circuitry.

    Hi Ken

    It's a P type arrangement

Slipped it off and found the problem..one of the wires has detached so should be fixed with a soldering job tomorrow.

    You advice is much appreciated.

I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow as 22.39 hrs here

    Regards

I had a very similar issue on my Kenwood TT. Glad you got it sorted.
