Not sure if im in the correct section if not can you guide me to the correct place thanks.
Well. I just purchased a set of autrium 8 outdoor speakers. Im having some problems on how to connect them to my receiver I was told I can by switching my receiver to 2ch and will need to connect them as my fronts.I also purchased a rocketfish wireless speaker system since it is impossible to run wire from my receiver to the speakers. The receiver I have is a sony ht-dn840 and I also have it connected to my home theater system. Hopefully I can get some help and thank you for the future responses.

I'm not familiar to your gear receiver/avr you have. With my Yamaha RX-V665 it also has a zone 2.A few quirky things about using my zn 2. Yamaha says it only transmits in analog mode and I get radio, i-net radio and the i-pod through the dock which surprised me.Calling Yamaha the said the dock works because it gets filtered down w/ the internal DAC . Now you abosolutely need to know the sequence of turning on zn2 if that's what you want but after a few flicking the power switch you can have zone 1 rockin in the living room and also have zn as your patio speakers. This all depends on make/ model of avr and you must carefully read how to control either 1or the other zones or both.
Just noticed you have but 6 posts, still new so welcome to CP. If your amp only has 2-chl.fronts were does your zn2 come in to play I would carefully read your instruction book and make sure it has a provision for an indepedent zn 2 and not just an A-B switcher type of thing . I know nothing about the wireless stuff. Good luck, I hope more will chime in once the day gets going.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Here's your problem you'll have. The Polk Atriums are not wireless speakers.
You connect the Rocketfish to a zone 2 or B on your receiver. Then the receiving unit has to be tied to the speakers with speaker wire, which if outside in the elements can be a problem as that receiving unit isn't weather proof.
It's pretty easy to just drill a hole in the wall and run wire outside if that's an option. Forget the rocketfish and simply connect to the receivers zone 2 or speakers B.HT SYSTEM-

thank you leftwinger for the welcome i have been looking at the receiver manual and it seems very vague on details i will keep looking thanks. and tony b if you dont mind me asking i know the speakers are not wireless but thinking the rocketfish could hlep with that since it gets connected like you said. the receiving unit i will have it tucked away from moisture or any outdoor problems.i wish i could connect them to run wires through my problem is were i need to run the wires from the attic to outside its in a angle were myself cant get thru making it impossible.
