I picked this up yesterday. Same great voice (duh!). Kind a little mellower than her other album "Come Away with Me". But if you like that album you'll probably dig this one too. Seems to be recorded well too.

It's growing on me.

Is it Hybrid SACD? or just Redbook only?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    doro,

I just bought the regular cd. Haven't done the SACD thing yet (but will once I get a player).

    Paul,
it's on my buy list for this weekend, is it more jazzy or country, compared to the previous one? thanks...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I just listened to the first half of the album. It is good, different from the first. I think it is much more country-ish than jazzy. I am looking forward to listening to the rest tomorrow.

thank you, gatemplin for the quick response...to be honest, I wasnt too crazy with her first album. There were only two songs that I like: Come away with me and the Nearness of you. The rest were just ok. But, it's just my subjective opinion....

What blows me away about that SACD, is the absolute clarity, and silence of the recording. Nothing but music and her voice. Yea, it's nothing groundbreaking as far as music goes, but the recording quality is what keeps me listening.

    Polkatese,

Yes its more countryish but not the "my dog just died" type of country:eek:

I would say overall its okay. Nothing spectacular but she's got a killer voice and the midrange really shines.

If it's any more mellower (ie:boring) than her first album, I'll be asleep halfway through the first track...

Thanks Paul....we'll see which one on this album will hit the chart. I will pass for the time being, just bought Manhattan Transfer, "Brasil" one of the missing 'must have' from my collections. Awesome..and it will keep me busy for awhile.
