Check out my record collection!

This has been an ongoing project for a few weeks. I'm using software for my Mac called Music Collector, which I got from collectorz.com. The software links to discogs and uses it as a database of releases, pressings, etc. So I've cataloged over 400 albums so far, over 600 discs. That completes my entire collection except for my classical and opera records. My catalog can then be uploaded to their cloud and viewed online, and there is also a mobile app that can sync from the cloud.
It's pretty cool to have my whole record collection captured like this. It allows me to browse my vinyl the same way I would as if I were looking at digital music. Of course, it can also catalog a cd collection as well, but my cd's are all ripped to my hard drive so i can already browse my collection. As much as I love listening to records, the one thing that drove me crazy after getting used to digital music is not being able to browse through my collection on a screen in order to pick something to listen to. Flipping through records on the shelves is cumbersome and time consuming, not to mention many of the spines of some of my older records are difficult to read.
So now I can just flip through my vinyl collection on my iPhone, iPad, or computer. I can browse by artist, genre, etc. I can also do things like find all my Japanese pressings or 45RPM vs. 33 1/3 RPM.
It's quite handy to have something like this on your phone when in a record store. I've mistakenly bought duplicates of albums I already had on several occasions. You can also build a wish list, which is also quite handy to have in a record store.
And finally, I can share the collection so anyone can see it! So here it is, have a look:

It took some time to get this set up, but well worth it. From here on in I will just add to it as I add new records to my collection.

Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Very nice collection and the organization is WAY cool ! Of course, you've forced me from this point forward to hate you. But in a good way.

Both The Fame and Fame Monster have some great songs and sound great. However, her last two albums have been disappointing. Beginners luck, I guess.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

That's pretty amazing. I can't imagine the amount of TIME it took to organize all of this. And I certainly don't have that kind of time at my finger tips. But hey, once it's done you have a really nice archive that you can keep going back to.
Nice work!

Timewise it wasn't that rough. The software links into discogs, so you just enter artist/title and the software searches discogs and brings back all the various versions. Then you just match up catalog numbers from discogs to the version you have, and it does the rest automatically - genres, track lists, cover art. There were some places (mainly the Japanese pressings) where I substituted cover art images, but mostly the software gave the correct one automatically. Sit down for a couple of hours and I could easily get through 50 albums. 7 or 8 sittings and I was done.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

And the end result is I can browse my record collection on my phone like this:
