So today i decided to hook my Monitor 5 B's to my Marantz 2385. I am very surprised at how good they sound. My 5's have upgraded tweets (RDO-194's) and I just and have always loved the way guitars sound through these speaks ...especially Fender guitars and that open back fender amp sound.... very realistic and crunchy...

I think the 2385 is a little overwhelming for the 5B's perhaps.. They sound good should I send the crossovers to Trey? Or should I think about a something BIG.

My question is ... What would be a better pair of Polks for my 2385 Retro rig... I would really like a sweet pair sda srs or something really bad ****, any ideas or thoughts to put me on my journey here would be appreciated.

    Wow, that Marantz has a lot of power for a receiver. 185 watts a channel?

    You can also look into the older RT line with built in subs. The RT2000p and 3000p are bad ****. I like the sound of the older version before they tamed down the tweeters on the later "i" models.
