Just thought I would throw this out for those in the DFW area if they haven't heard. The BGW Proamps from Texas Stadium are being sold off at $99 each. The seller has 43 of the stereo model 600s 175wpc and 15 of the 620 500 watt monoblocks. Nice old conversation pieces if anyone cares.......

There's a nice little discussion going on at Audiokarma about these amps. Pretty cool !

BGW amps were workhorse amps made for custom applications. Universal Studios wanted them for the old Sensurround Sound in their theaters. Easy to work on, lots of room in the huge cabinets. Made to last forever. I've had a few pass my way and these at $99are a bargain, let alone the cool factor of their history!

One AK'er picked up 4 of them and, okay, they're not Krell amps, but this looks pretty cool IMO

If you feel lucky and have a "little" money to burn, the seller IS willing to ship.

There are enough DFW locals on here that if someone wanted to work a group buy, it could happen. I don't know of a better value on some really good vintage studio/pro type gear. If you have the room, that stack in the pic would make a great multi channel rig for $400.

Thanks for the post Dennis, this is really cool. I once looked at a few old BGW two channel power amps, possibly the 750B, but they were probably around the 1980's and had multi-color leds like vu meters. Saw some of the info about Universal Studios running some of the old BGW 750 and 750A amps from 1974 and how many of them are still___ working after 40 years. Probably made right here in the U.S.A. !
