This was a sad week. On Tuesday, the GSU administration announced that WRAS - 88.5 - will now broadcast GPB content from the hours of 5 am to 7 pm....which completely sucks because WRAS is a great station that plays a diverse selection of non-commercial music, including indy, jazz, big band, classical, rock, and everything in between. If you are a fan of the station and would like to support WRAS before the area gets a 3RD GPB-based station, please check out this link:

Thanks...

I'm actually excited about this. GPB hasn't had a broadcast in Atlanta until now. I love NPR programming and WABE fills most of the day with Classical programming. I wouldn't call GPB a propaganda tool. That's Fox News and/or WSB Radio. You can still listen to WRAS during the day on a digital feed (HD Radio and Online) and of course, it will be blasting 100,000 watts analog on all night long.

Kevhed, Just curious how you think this will be a 3rd GPB broadcast in the area? The nearest GPB broadcast is in Rome and/or Warm Springs. I can't get those, can you?

I hope you are not confusing GPB with WABE which is run by Atlanta Public Schools. They may share some NPR programming, but they are not the same. WCLK has just a tiny bit of NPR programming.
