These are just amazing. Hate to have to sell them but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I have owned and heard many speakers and I'll have to say that these are one of the best. these may be the last speakers you will ever need. I have owned these for appx. eight months. I bought them locally off the 'gon from a guy who sent them to Magnepan to have the speakers totally redone so basically these are less than a year old. I unfortunately haven't been able to spend as much time with them as I have wished. Link to a pic with my original excitement of purchase:

Two small issues. One of the middle trim pieces is loose at the top and there is a dent in one of the bases. The dent in the base will be cleaned up before sale and you will not be able to tell it was there unless you are extremely anal and picky. If so, I don't want to sell to you anyway. The trim is decorative and not really noticeable anyway. Does not affect the speakers at all.
I do have original boxes and all packing material. I'd like to keep local but will ship if needed.
$1,000. Paypal is welcome as gift.

Any thoughts on how these would compare with the LSi-M705's I now have?
Room is 12 x 20, listener is about 10' from the speakers, sitting in the middle one of the 20' walls.
Second question: These Maggies work best quite far out from the wall, yes?“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

If one has the room for them, I would take them over the LSiM's everyday of the week and twice on Sunday, especially for 2 channel, they sound amazing, add a really good tight sub (not a Polk) and call it a day..Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

Most every Maggie I have heard need to be out from the back wall quite a bit. Its truly amazing how any little item behind them can be heard. A good friend has a pair and just sitting a small table behind one made a huge difference and not for the good. Just smashed that side of the sound. If you have the room they are just amazing in their delivery of sound. -

I have a pair of wide open baffle speakers behind my Maggies Since it's symmetrical, it kind of works for now.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

Have you moved those from behind just to see what difference it would make? Makes a huge difference in the depth of the sound stage IMO.

I've been in the presence of these speakers and they are wonderful! I own MMG's with Mye stands and fully upgraded crossovers. The speakers DaBoyz is selling are a full step up. Much better base and much better imaging.
Just to be blunt - he's lost his mind if he's selling these. These are "final" speakers - no need to look further once these are in the house. Only reason I'm not jumping on them is that I have to upgrade everything and at the moment I can't afford to do that.Aaron

As A2 so eloquently put it, you'd be hard pressed to find something better at the same price. I have not heard the Lsim's but even if they are better than the Lsi's you are still not in the same league IMHO. Even if your room is not "perfect" for these they will still be awesome. I will be more than happy to compare them.

Great speaker! I wish my 11x12 room would work with them! People, usually you get them and have to send them in to have them re-done. Daboys are re-done already! Saves time, money, shipping... Besides all of that, he good person to deal with.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

WTF...
Yes, I do want them - same excuse as before for not buying them. Same opinion on daboyz mental status for selling them!Aaron

Thanks, guys. I probably am crazy. Still here.

Well daboyz must be crazy selling these at this price but he is a great person to deal with. I am still enjoying the ML sub I purchased from you a while back.
If you have a high current amp and get these placed right , add one or two good sealed, fast subs you could call it a day and never think about upgrading your front speakers again. I have the amp and subs. I just do not have the room size. Otherwise at this price and being local I would be owning these now. This is a steal for redone Maggies. I am still think of these... Best of luck with the sale!HT System

Thanks, Dave! Subs would be nice but these put out a lot of bass on their own. Have never felt the need to use one with them.
I've got them set up in a "poor" room for these and they still sound great. -

LOL? You realize I put the RS-II into my will to go to my dad not you right? Cause that would be the end result of my buying ONE more set of big speakers..
I've got too many projects on the table, no need to add another.... and my room is MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than Dave's lol..

I agree, the planars do a nice job of hitting low and they are fast and you may not need subs. If I remember these do go good down to around 43HZ. Correct me if I am wrong since it is from memory. Here is the thing. Ever since you put these up I have been thinking of these. This damn hobby is a addiction. I have Martin Logan Aeon i's which the most I could put away from the back wall is about 34 inches. Side walls are not as much as a issue. I am happy with my ml's. How much happier would I be with these being driven by my Parasound Halo 51? I lived with a guy years ago that had I believe 1.2's but we never had proper space for them to shine . My room is 15 x 20 and I have concerns with distance from the wall behind them and placement. My ML's are finicky regarding positioning. anybody who haves or had Maggies please give me your ideas regarding the recommended space needed behind and to the side of these. It would be appreciated.
Have to give it some more thought as this is a hell of a speaker.

Yes, I believe they go down to appx. 42HZ. IMHO every room is different so I'd say you'd probably have to play with them awhile to find your spot. I was able to spend a couple hours with them the other night. They are amazing even if not set perfectly. I am probably the biggest idiot here for selling them.
I may consider shipping but it may cost a pretty penny. -
If they are still are available next week I may want to take a trip out and listen to them if possible . Can't this week. But I believe I owe it to myself....HT System

34" might be good, might not. Your room is a good size for them though, at least IMO. 12x20 would be tough, but that extra 3' in width can make all the difference.
As far as the Maggie sound, I'm not big on ML's. I do scour for deals on them to give them a better chance, but they aren't near as captivating to me as the Maggie sound. The only reason I haven't replaced my SMGa's is because I don't have a room ideal for them to be set up in at the moment. You do....
Thanks for the input.... I know many who are not happy with the ML's and many who are. But after giving them gobs of current with my Parasound and finding decent placement I do like the sound. The ML Motiff that I have is the best center channel I have heard. The Maggie here is similar in needing power and space but haves a much more distinguished following . No doubt it would be a upgrade having that Maggie soundHT System

Still available. Would consider trades for front stage speakers and/or 5 channel amp. The amp may be less of an issue. Speaks must be equally good for HT as well as 2ch. Not interested in Rti's.
