Its not awful, a little derivitave, and a little simplistic in spots.

Billy bob Thornton is a hit man.

Its a different take on the setting in the movie

    I saw all of the first episode ,but missed about the first 40 minutes of the second episode. I thought it was excellent and will continue to watch it if I can remember when it comes on,lol. Martin Freeman is an excellent actor.

    I haven't watched it yet as I only have the local channels. Probably watch it if it comes to netflix....

    Would have been nice if they'd actually filmed it here, apparently they didn't even use the real Paul and Babe statue.

    Yes, and I'll say this: you can't judge it only on the first episode. They have to setup the story (and some characters) which immediately pays off in the next episode. I think I'm in for at least the first "year".

    I watched the rerun last night of the 3rd episode, it was awesome. Love the Kate Walsh character, she plays a good ex stripper lush,lol, you betcha.

    Speaking of first year, gotta think billy bob might do as the 2 stars of true detective, a one shot deal, and either thats it for series, or it moves on to other storylines.
