RT/FX Surrounds (Bipole/Dipole) Speaker Placement?

Previously I have purchased RT/FX surround speakers that are 10+ years.
They are Dipole/Bipole optional by the touch of a switch.
The run perfectly but I can't find the user online manual for wall placement,
so I have enclosed a few pics to describe my rooms setup (please excuse the mess, there is house renovations).
What is the correct Di/Bipole wall placement?
Should the hook that is next to the speaker wires be placed on the rear wall, or the side wall that is next to the rear wall?
Should the driver and woofer be facing towards the listener going horizontally across ,
or should it be firing towards the front speakers?
What confuses me is that if I fire the speakers to the front, then the backside of the surround speaker would also be hitting the rear wall, which would either probably start causing phasing or echoing issues.
Any suggestions on ideal placement for this room? It is for Dolby Digital 5.1 system setup. TY very much.

Welcome Mitch, the way it appears you have them set up, I would try bi-pole and the speaker posts should be facing the wall. As a suggestion, they are way too close to your couch though. If possible, raise them on the wall about 2-3 feet above your ears when seated.HT SYSTEM-

Thank you so very much for the reply, this was confusing me, now the other thing that is confusing me is, I have a Pioneer VSX 522-K receiver. It decodes Dolby 5.1 along with Dolby IIx. I understand that Dolby IIx also emits 5.1 surround, so which mode is best to use, when a movie is in Dolby Digital & what would happen if I watched a movie that was coded for Dolby Digital but used Dolby IIx?Any rule of thumbs?

Your receiver should pick the right one. I do not believe you would be able to pick if it sees the DD flag, but if you can you'd be ok but not the best for it to sound. The only way PLIIx would show up is if the movie was Dolby Pro Logic then it would go into PLIIx. -
There should be an "auto-decode" setting of some sorts so the receiver will just do any changes in the signal automatically.HT SYSTEM-

Hey Pitdogg2, do you have a Pioneer receiver? It seems when a Dolby Pro Logic encoded, I can't get Dolby Pro Logic IIx only Pro Logic II. Any suggestions?

Thanks Tony, should they be facing the side or rear walls for 5.1?
