Ghent Audio 125ASX2 IcePower Stereo Amp - Price: $250 + shipping
I have used many IcePower based amps (8 now) and this one was the best value I have come across at $500 (its a steal for $250). For those unfamiliar B&O produces IcePower modules which vary in output, and are used by many commercial amp manufacturers (Bel Cano, Wyred4Sound, PS Audio, Red Dragon to name a few). In this instance Ghent Audio is a smaller manufacturer out of China who now has a deal with B&O and is able to produce these amps using the latest modules for a much lower cost (and probably much less profit, my current amps mirror the W4S mAMPs for 1/2 the price).
As for specs:
The sound is typical for an IcePower amp, that is to say detailed highs, organic mids, and very punchy bass. Honestly IcePower to me has always had a very neutral sound, and paired with a passive pre can be VERY revealing. In my system I got no background noise, and had to have the head to the speaker to hear it. The only reason for the sale is I upgraded to the 4ch version of the same amp for my 7.1 setup.
Condition:
I am the second owner of this amp and would rate it 8/10 on the Agon scale. There are a couple pinhead size blemishes on the front and a light scratch on the top (can't get it to show in pics). Functionally it has been perfect since the day it went in my system. See high resolution pics here.
Terms:
Accepting Paypal gift, Paypal (add 1.5%), USPS money order, or cash (for local pickup in CT). I have the original box and packaging, but the amp came with nothing else. I have feedback on Head-Fi and on Audiogon. For sale in the US only.
Thanks,
James

I never even noticed this listing, congrats. How would you say this compares to a w4s or any other ice modules you have used?

Very similar to the W4S mINT that I had, with a slight edge to the mINT at low volumes (I assume due to the buffer).
I have used IcePower amps from W4S, PS Audio, Red Dragon, EVS, NHT, Ghent Audio and a homebrew. I really like the new 125ASX2 modules (I believe W4S only uses thes in the mAmps) bridged. Got mine from the same company, Ghent Audio, for 1/2 the price of the W4S mAmps. Just as good if not better then the amps I have heard using the 1000ASP modules.
