Recognizing flacs on my receiver

My receiver is connected to my network and recognizes mp3 and playlists created in wmp11. I wanted to try flac files so I ripped a few and created a playlist with media monkey but my receiver can't see them. I copied the flacs to a flash drive and put it in the USB port on my receiver and it works. So what is going on? How can I get my receiver to recognize flacs and flac playlists on my computer.

    Receiver is an Integra 30.3.

I ripped a CD as wav files using media monkey. Media monkey shows all 11 songs. Wmp11 only recognizes 4 songs, and my receiver only see the same 4 songs.

I guess I'm not real clear on what a media server is. It seems wmp11 is my media server and it doesn't recognize FLACs. How do I make media monkey my media server?

I remember there was an "add on" pack for WMP that added codecs for things like FLAC. Search for something like that; it's a very quick install. I can now play FLACs on an old WMP that wouldn't recognize them before the CODEC update.
