Oppo 103D vs PS3 and other questions?

I have a couple of PS3's and love everything about them. Including the awesome picture quality. I have a chance to buy a used since February Oppo 103 D for $450.00 and I might b able to talk him down to 400. He says he never registered it so I could get the one year warranty w that. Are there reliability issues with this unit ? And will I see a difference in picture quality? As always thanks for any help. Peace. D

    I bought one of the earlier Oppo 103's after having used a PS3 for a blu ray player for years. I definitely noticed a better picture and faster load time with the 103. As for the newer 103 D models, I would think you'd get an even crisper,sharper, picture due to the Darbee circuitry. I passed on upgrading to the 103D earlier this year because I'm running a 22" lcd tv so on that small of screen I wouldn't see the improvement on my current set. If you have a 42" or larger screen, I bet you'll be dazzled by the sharpness of the 103D. That's a damn good price, but I'm not sure how the warranty would transfer, maybe others can chime in.

    Buy the 103D...if not for yourself, for me:)

    I replaced my PS3 with a standard 103 and I'll never look back.

    Better picture, sound and faster. What's not to love?!

    I recently bought a 103 and agree with other posters. After having used a PS3 for several years, found the 103 to have better picture; the sound quality to me was much better, especially DTS Master Audio sources. Also faster load times and like the menu.
    I can also play my music flac files. Excellent player!
