Gallo Reference 3.1 - Price: $1500 local pickup
These speakers were the best audio purchase I ever made. These were an upgrade from LSi9s and were really an upgrade from top to bottom. These Gallos are known for their design which includes spherical enclosures, crossoverless drivers, time-alligned MTM, and mostly their unique 300° CDT II tweeter.
Sound quality wise these exhibit solid bass response down to ~40hz, mids sound excellent and smoothly transition to the woofer and tweeter, and the highs are detailed without being bright. The most impressive feat on these speakers is their ability to just disappear while exhibiting a nice wide soundstage with great imaging. This ability is what first made me purchase these speakers, and what kept them in my system all these years. The only reason I am parting with these is I upgraded to 3.5s.
Condition:
I am the original owner of these and would rate them 7/10 on the Agon scale. They have been moved around alot and have gotten some minor scrapes in the process, though you can't see any of the blemishes unless up close. Functionally wise these have performed admirably from the day I bought them, and have seen light use (maybe 6hrs/week). I tried my best to take detailed pictures of any blemishes, and they can be seen here.
Terms:
Accepting Paypal gift, USPS money order, or cash. I have the original boxes, grilles and mounting hardware, and metal feet. These are for pickup only in Bristol CT, which is south of Hartford. I have feedback on Head-Fi and on Audiogon.

Thanks everyone, they are beauties. Is there any way to ship these??
At this point no...but I do have the original boxes and I believe all the packing material so it's not out of the realm of possibility. I will update the thread if shipping becomes a consideration, but really want to sell local becuase of the convenience, save the buyer some coin, and let the buyer inspect them before purchase as they do have some blemishes. You can't find a better seller than this guy! Good luck with the sale James!
Thanks for the bode of confidence Neil. If your in the area in the near future let me know and you can check out the rig. Still have those Tri-Traps. -
I still have them too! And the 6 panels I bought from you. The rig's a lot better on my end, so same invite goes your way. If you're ever down in this neck of the woods, you've got to check out what I've done with that little room!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Bump for the weekend crowd. I also have a subwoofer that would go great with these for HT, a Pre/Pro and a nice IcePower Stereo Amp all for sale. Also have a nice TVC for 2ch use that I could part with.

Great speakers, you might consider shipping them. I think I got mine to NC to CA for $80 & they're built like tanks, so damage risk is low.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

What he said. Toolfan was first to express interest if I were to ship so he has first dibs, then usp1. I got worried becuase I just shipped my Marantz AV7005 and it was close to $70. Figured it would be $150+ for these, but $80 isn't bad at all. -
Hm. On reflection it was about 7 years ago... maybe get a quoteGallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Both buyers took a pass so these are still available. Lets do $1400 local pickup or $1400 + shipping if they need to be shipped. Just know that your looking at around $100-$200 depending on distance.

These are available again after a local buyer on Agon said they would take them...then went incommunicado.

These are still available, along with the SVS sub.
