So when did you get them? lol--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
Haha... thinking about it.
Problem is space. They are monsters and need a good size room that's kinda hard at my place. The 51-lb upper section houses the midrange and tweeters, and is located by pegs to the top of the 72-lb woofer base.
Amazing review at Stereophile. http://www.stereophile.com/content/snell-type-loudspeaker-larry-greenhill-snell-type-aiii
Mentions these are one of few outstanding speakers from that era and bass is as good as Wilsons.
I'm just not sure if I want that size speakers in the house.
Also, since I never heard them, no idea how much better they will be from what I have. Hmm...

God those are heavy speakers, and come in two sections? I've never heard that model, but I've never heard a Snell that wasn't worth a good listen, they're generally wonderful speakers.
But I'd have no space for those either.

Yep, they are pretty big and very inefficient at 86 dB sensitivity.

I decided to pass on these due to space issue.
If anyone local wants them, they are listed in CL for good price.
