O yea...great music came out of that country...The Essential Yardbirds...not an LP ...a cd set...covers the whole span of their career....all original cuts on this one...some in mono.....

The Nightfly on SACD
I have been listening to the original CD version of this masterpiece since 1983 and just purchased this SACD version.
I just now got a chance to really listen after receiving it a few days ago and am wowed.
Listening to it on tubes and VR3 703's the bass coming out is so natural and deep I thought there was a sub connected for a moment.
The soundstage particularly the vocals is spectacular. I've always noted that DF vocals were a bit sibilant and attributed it to a slight speech impediment but this version seems to eliminate it. Even though the original recording was one of my all time favorites, this version just blows me away. From the foot of Mt. Belzoni to my ears. Audio Bliss for sure.

I never get tired of looking a LP covers! I remember my favorite part about vinyl collecting was checking out all the covers and reading who the artist where. Back then I knew all the members of all my favorite bands that way.
