Just a thought...more of a dream actually...too bad all of us don't live close by..with all the fine tunes that show up on here,we could pool our resources, fly underneath the FCC and start an underground radio station! We would slay anything around for miles...just like in the good old days...just albums back to back!...just a dream though....

    Happy Monday Everyone!
Just got back from a 4 mile run. My running music system is a 1st Generation iPod Shuffle with Sennheiser MX-685 earbuds. I usually put on music I'm currently into and then shuffle play it. Some songs inspire me. Some songs just keep me going. Today I was inspired and the main songs that helped were:
-Cold Rain & Snow - Grateful Dead from Dick's Picks 5 (1979 show)
-Desdemona - The Allman Brothers band from One Way Out (live at the Beacon Theater)

    Now listening via MOG to:

Msabot1: I would do that in a second. Actually, a guy around here did that about ten years ago, well not exactly. There was a country western radio station that somebody bought real cheap and they wanted to change the format. Somehow this guy I know was talking to him and said he would do work as the station manager although he had no experience other than promoting concerts and being a huge music lover. Nobody listened to this station and the new owner didn't have much coin so he took a chance. The guy I know worked long hours as DJ but was able to spin whatever he wanted and within a very short time EVERYBODY was listening to this station. They had at least one other DJ that was okay. I had a chance to do a Bob Dylan Hour, but commitments at work prevented me from doing it at that time. After a few years, the owner decided he could flip the station for a sizeable profit now that it was so popular. Some dorky corporation bought it and turned it into a computer-generated-playlist-power-rock station or something like that and the station immediately lost their fan base. The guy I know was never asked to DJ by the corporation, and he did not share in the profits from the sale of course, either. But he said those years were the best years of his life.

I remember those days. When i actually listened to the radio. Never goes on at home anymore since Clearchannel took over the air waves. Sounds like a great idea.
