Rick 88: Doesn't "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" hold up well? I still remember when my friend's older brother came home with that album by this new English band, and we played that side of the album over and over and over. Still like it.

Saw Iris DeMent a little while ago. Married these days to Greg Brown I believe, living in a farm house in Iowa. Interesting to see her picture when she was a lot younger, didn't listen to her then. Her new album is supposed to be really good.

Cream Disraeli Gears (1967) CD -> ALAC
I'm ripping my CD collection [which started with David Grisman Acousticity as the first purchase in 1987 & perhaps ended in 2012 with Bonnie Raitt Slipstream]. My wife made me stop buying LPs to save up for a CDP. I'm waiting on FedEx to deliver a Rogue Audio Stealth phono preamp, so I can start ripping vinyl to ALAC. I haven't listened to LPs since '92, and I started with LPs ~ 1969. I got my first cassette deck in '75, a Pioneer CT-9191, & all new LPs were played twice (to set recording level & record). I will be ripping for some time to come.
David Grisman turned me on to Iris DeMent. New Grass Revival turned me on to The Desert Rose Band, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones & John Cowan Band. Iris & the DRB are the only 2 of those I haven't caught in concert . . . I will be 60 next Monday. My first concert? Eric Burden & The Animals . . . . Mom told me to tuck my shirttail in as the folks dropped me off at The Cotillion Ballroom, Wichita, 1969. -
