Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Yeah, I don't think it lasted even a week. I believe one of the Monkees, maybe Peter Tork, was a big fan and got him on as the opening act. Big mistake.

Viking64: You know that apparently Stephen Stills auditioned for The Monkees TV show and was super pizzed off that they gave the part to Peter Tork, who had been hanging around the Mulholland Drive pads of late, and whom Stills did not believe was musically adept.....

Listening to some old school Antonio Carlos Jobim at present. I call it Martini and cigarette music, though I don't smoke and am enjoying a whisky sour.

Passport • Running In Real Time

I have about 4-5 CD's of Klaus Doldinger's Passport jazz, mostly from the later half of their discography. I find it to be mostly typical smooth jazz, a lot of it sounds too similar, likeable for usually short periods. For jazz I'm more inclined to reach for some 50's-60's hard bop or more Herbie Hancock like fusion jazz. :)

"One Witness" is a great reference song for comparing speakers.
