I want to upgrade the arm on my Denon DP72L platter which currently has a Grace 707 arm. I was a little too late pulling the plug on a used SME M2 tonearm a couple days ago. Wondering if anyone believes I would have a better alternative in that price range than a used SME, and if so, what alternatives would you suggest? I'll be matching it with a vintage S.A.E. 1000 cartridge (made by Coral) with Soundsmith level 3 upgrade. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Maybe I should ask this question: what do you consider the best newer (or re-wired) tonearm available in the under $1,000 used category ? The S.A.E. 1000 cart (essentially a Coral 707) I'll be using is a HOMC that's 4.7 grams stock, prior to the Soundsmith re-tip. I've had SME arms in the past and always liked them. Thanks again.
