CC is closing 19 stores in 14 states. (2 in each of the following: Ohio, Texas, Indiana, Illinois and Florida)

The stores will open tomorrow (2/10) for final closeout sales and expected to close permanently on 2/23.

Might be able to get some killer deals.
A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

How bad have I got the bug? Well last night I had many dreams about going to the CC that is closing and finding all kinds of gear for way cheap. I only wish they have the 7 channel 250W amp that was originally 1700 for 300. What a dream come true that would be.

If anyone hits the stores please let us know what kind of deals you found. I am wondering how much they are really going to mark down stuff.

I went to the Indy store closing today. 90% of what they had was simply display stuff. However I did not get out there till after noon so much was picked over. They did not have cables or cd/dvd's it was just electronics (computers, cameras, phones, receivers, dvd players and of course speakers.)

The prices were good but nothing that was super sweet. Many things were marked down 30-40% but there wasn't much left.

I came out of there with a CSi3, not a killer price but worth buying. I plan on putting it up on ebay and trying to turn a small profit. What sucks is all the smaller Polk HT sets were snagged by a guy right , and I mean right, when I got there. They had some towers left but the rti70's were only marked down to 169 ea. Not a killer price if you ask me.

As empty as the store was I don't think they will be open by the end of the week.

I picked up an open box csi5 at the Houston location, in what appears to be very nice condition. It was priced at 179. Couldn't pass that up! It goes so nicely with the rti12s. Moved the old Bostons to another room, and moved my csi40 to the rear. I know that's probably overkill, but what the hell, I'm smiling!

When I first saw it, I thought of all the reasons I really didn't need it, and actually almost made it out the door. Then I lost all control and pulled the trigger. I feel like a hopeless junkie.....

As much as it sounds like a good thing to many the real problem will be where will you find Polk for sale if CC is gone without paying the super high prices found at the hi-end stores (if any sell Polk none in my area do). In the end it will hurt the Polk co. (and other co's) as I'm sure CC is responsable in quite a big way for there overall success, and introduced alot of people (including myself) to Polk (and other co's) and there quality. Now everybody really injoys (myself included) the good deals that were going on with the new line change but I'm guessing that if CC was gone it would have a devastating effect on Polk not to mention the unemployment that this economey in no way needes to bare. I feel it is a shame when a co. makes those kind of needed changes. I'm sure not everyone who works CC is bad just a few I'm sure.

    AGREED

I am hoping this cut in stores helps CC regain some profitability and does not mean an end to the CC stores. I know w/out them my HT habit would stop. It is never a good sign when a company closes stores like that.
