In the late 60's I bought a Vox guitar head unit for my band rig, this thing is similiar to the ones the Beatles used when they started, it still works, but has a hum I just cant get rid of, i have cleaned the pieces I can access without totally tearing the thing a part.

Anybody have any suggestions or know where i might go for help?

It is my understanding that hum is caused when the main supply capacitors start to go bad. They are normally very large capacitors, the largest ones in the unit. Usually two of them.
