SDA 2A's or SDA CRS?

Have the opportunity to get SDA 2A's (with new tweeters) or SDA CRS (all stock). Plan to use in a 13x19 office, with much of theplaying time at background levels. Thoughts on which could be more 'useful' or functional would be appreciated.

I have 2Bs and CRS+. My room is 14x20. In stock form or otherwise I prefer the 2Bs but the CRS+ really sound good. I know this is not a direct comparison like you want but maybe it will help.

CRS+ sound very good and can be upgraded to TL version which in turn can sound better than the 2A's if you read threads here.
Personally, I'd prefer 2A's as CRs+ needs stands and basically use the same space and I don't like speakers on stands that can be pulled/tipped over by kids (if you have kids).

The 2As can be TL'd as well, and will equal the performance of the 2Bs. Depending on which model CRS/CRS+, they can be upgraded, and sound amazing. They won't go as deep as the 2s, but will give them a run for their money.

I think the CRS is easier to place in a room, thus can sound better in a given small/less ideal room.

? Wouldnt the CRS's need a tad bit more room behind them/from the wall VS the 2a's

Actually the opposite is true. Per the CRS manual Polk designed the CRS to fit pretty close to a back wall on a shelf or they can be pulled out into the room a bit. That's why they have the cage over the rear passive to prevent it from hitting a back wall when placed snug. I have placed my CRSs in many less than ideal set-ups (including my current set-up) and they still perform well with very good SDA effect. Its been my experience that the CRSs are the most flexible SDA in terms of placement. If you don't have the room to do the traditional SDA placement, the CRSs are the best choice by far.
